About the project:

Existing for over a decade, this organization is working in a variety of projects. At (primary) schools children and teachers learn about and get assistance with the construction and maintenance of vegetable gardens. Depending on the space and the availability of water, the schools sometimes have rather small gardens that serve primarily to practice and not so much to produce a lot of vegetables and sometimes they do not go beyond making a salad with the classes once. At the families’ homes, the square foot gardening method is used in garden tubs of 1.20 m x 1.20 m. The organization visits people’s homes and supports them with gardening. The organization works in other related topics such as healthy food, composting, fruit trees and there is a huge variety of projects to get involved in, but expect to get your hands dirty. There is a great need for hard workers, volunteers and interns who can take initiative and responsibility and are willing to work independently after a while. Together with the project, you will possibly develop your own assignment and little project. Reasonable Spanish and a minimum stay of 2 months is required to start here.
